On other ships, you can game the system by inserting another card (credit card, membership card, driver's license), but, unfortunately, that trick doesn't work on MSC Seashore. Deluxe balcony cabins are the same size as regular balcony rooms -- between 172 to 183 square feet -- but what makes them better is their position on the ship on decks 9 to 15. While the cocktails onboard MSC Seashore mostly skewed toward disappointing (and sometimes undrinkable), we found the food to either be excellent or embarrassing. The ship has the biggest-ever Doremi (pronounced Do-Re-Mi) club and the vast majority of cabins can handle three or four passengers, swelling the capacity of the ship up to 5,877. MSC often runs promotions that allow families to bring their children for free. With MSC Seashore, the line made the decision to have several pools around the ship, as opposed to one larger one. It works, at least on our sailing, as people did spread out around the ship, making the pool decks feel less crowded.
The Thermal Suite on MSC Seashore is one of the most comprehensive that we've seen at sea, with all kinds of interesting stations. There are chromotherapy shower circuits, multiple types of saunas, a huge hot tub, aromatherapy rain showers and arctic showers, Himalayan salt room, a snow room, a dark steam room and a light steam room and relaxation areas. Passes are included for Aurea and Yacht Club guests, and you can buy them by the day or week, either as an individual or a couple. Surrounded by plants and greens, the Jungle Pool seems like it would be a respite. It's right near the Doremi kids club, and a short walk from the buffet, however, so it's a natural draw for families.
Although the area is open to passing traffic, I found it a quiet place to work, read or meet up with friends for a chat. In addition to the breathtaking atrium spaces and outdoor areas for which the Seaside and Seaside EVO Classes are known, several locations on MSC Seashore require shoutouts, simply for being fantastic. Rooms are also designed so you can't turn the lights on without inserting your keycard into a slot by the door.
